“Exceptional claims management” is a “cornerstone” of the business, CEO says
Everest Group has promoted Andrew McBride (pictured above left) to the role of group chief claims officer. The company has also announced the appointment of Lope Garcia (pictured above right) as global reinsurance chief claims officer for its reinsurance division.
McBride will lead claims across Everest’s insurance and reinsurance divisions, working closely with the underwriter’s global leaders to drive claims excellence and superior service, the company announced in a Thursday media release.
Most recently, McBride was global head of claims at Everest Insurance. He joined the company in 2021 after serving as executive vice president for claims at Chubb.
He also previously led claims functions at companies like ACE, QBE Insurance Group in Europe, and AON.
Garcia is based in Miami, reporting to McBride. He will closely work with Jill Beggs, the reinsurance chief operating officer, and her global executive team to direct the function’s strategy and operations.
Garcia brings to the role over three decades of claims leadership experience.
Prior to joining Everest, he was senior vice president of claims at Chubb for Latin America, where he designed and executed the organization’s claims strategy while leading over 1,400 employees across nine countries.
Everest president and CEO Juan Andrade said “exceptional claims management is a cornerstone” of the company’s reputation.
“Andrew and Lope are both seasoned and trusted leaders, with a record of building successful global claims operations,” Andrade said.
The appointments follow the promotion of Harry Townsend as chief ceded reinsurance officer of Everest Insurance.
