NatWest’s 60-second insurance quotes are convenient. Are they actually advice?

Fast isn’t the same as suitable

Home insurance looks simple until it isn’t. Rebuild costs, underinsurance, flood risk, listed-building quirks and high-value contents are exactly the kind of detail a 60-second, price-led quote journey isn’t built to catch. BIBA has made the case that broker-arranged cover comes with something a quote engine doesn’t: what its chief executive, Graeme Trudgill, has previously described as “free advice without any obligation to buy,” from someone qualified to ask whether the product in front of a customer actually fits their situation. NatWest and Uinsure are, in effect, betting that most customers would rather skip that conversation altogether.
